When You Sweat Too Much: Hyperhidrosis

Sweating is a normal and even healthy thing in our daily life. however, over sweating can be completely a mess. If you are sweating too much while doing usual activity, you may suffer from hyperhidrosis. Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweat, is a regular mess which can cause a lot of uncomfortableness. It is estimated that 2%-3% of American people go through such excessive sweating of the underarms (axillary hyperhidrosis)  or of the palms and soles of the feet (palmoplantar hyperhidrosis) . The armpit excessive sweating seems to be the most common case among others, such problem tend to establish around puberty, while palm and sole sweating may begin earlier, often during childhood. When armpit problems are not treated properly, these problems may persist all the way through life.

In any condition, armpit problems are embarrassing. Besides it makes our clothes stained, excessive sweat can also make problems in business and social interactions. Serious cases of excessive sweating can have weighty practical cost as well. These problems can really make people who suffer from it difficult to do practical daily work such as hold a pen, grip a steering wheel, or even cause unconfident feeling when shaking hands.

Excessive sweating can results from various causes including neurologic, metabolic, and other systemicdiseases but in most cases it also occurs in people who are healthy. Hyperhidrosis can also be caused by inside factor like emotions or outside factor like the hot weather. However, many who suffer from hyperhidrosis sweat almost all the time, apart from of their mood or the weather.

Then, how to deal with excessive sweating problems? Treating hyperhidrosis generally carry on the following methods:

Antiperspirants. using antiperspirants which contains aluminum chloride are effective to deal with hyperhidrosis and it is also known as the most practical way to deal with excessive seating problems.

Iontophoresis. This device has been developed to help people reducing hyperhidrosis problems. It is a device which surpasses direct electricity all the way through the skin using tap water.

Anticholinergics. It is a kind of oral medications which can reduce sweating.

Botox (botulinum toxin). This methog is also known to be effective to lessen your sweat. Botox is especially helpful for reducing excessive axillary (underarm) sweating

Surgery: a kind of surgery known as cervical sympathectomy may be the last option to deal with armpit problems when you really get that acute hyperhidrosis.
