Throughout our lives we had experienced injury and wound in our skin either it is caused by cut, scrape, burn, sore, surgery or even infections. Unfortunately, those injuries can result scars. It is actually a result of natural part of the healing process. While stretch of scar may increase attraction for men, it is obviously just the opposite in women case. Some may be just small stretches on the hidden part of your body, but in some cases you may get that uninteresting stretch that you want to get rid of. Your scars will fade over time, but it will never completely go away. In fact, we can never completely remove that scars, but there are several methods to reduce scars. The treatments for reducing scar appearance depend on the types and depth of the scars.
Keloid scars
Keloids are are the result of an overly aggressive healing process which cause extending scars beyond the original injury. Possible treatments are surgical removal, or injections with steroids. Smaller keloids can be treated using cryotherapy (freezing therapy using liquid nitrogen). You can also prevent keloid formation by using pressure treatment or gel pads with silicone when you sustain an injury. Keloid scars most often occur in Blacks.
Contracture scars
Contracture scars are often caused by burn that results in tightening of skin. in serious cases, Contracture scars can impair your ability to move or further this type of scar may go deeper to affect muscles and nerves. Possible treatment for contracture scars are using prescription creams, ointments or gels. Surgical removal or treatment can also help reducing deeper wounds and scars. More importantly if this scar has impaired your muscles functions like in burned cases, surgery can help address those problems.
Hypertrophic scars
Hypertrophic scars are those raised and red scars that are similar to keloids, but do not breach the boundaries of the injury site. Reducing this kind of scar can include injections of steroids to reduce inflammation. These injections will reduce the appearance of pitted scars and pock marks. However, there are some possible risks regarding this method, thus beore deciding to take such injection it is recommended to have consultation with your doctor.
Acne scars
Pimples can cause the scars in our face skin called acne. The treatment for such scar will be depend on the depth of your acne and the type of your skin as well. Applying gels or ointments is likely the most chosen method to reduce acne.
Alternative treatment
It has been commonly known that alternative treatment can be more safe rather that the use of medication and chemical products. Alternative treatments for reducing scars include the consumption of lemon and aloe vera. Studies have confirmed that both lemon and aloe vera contain vitamin, protein and natural acids that help to lighten darker colored acne scars.
