Bleeding during sex is not a strange case. Yet it must be very disturbing when you found that red fluid.
Aging, depression and several other factors like certain deceases can affect our memory. We may start forgetting things due to stress that we cannot focus or due to aging. People tend to forget things when they get old. We forget somebody’s name; we forget where we put things; we forget to do something. Nevertheless, it is pretty normal. Not only for old people, even the young ones eventually forget things. In fact, researchers found that memory loss can actually begin at the age of 20s and keep continue through aging. However it can be a problem if you keep forgetting things and it start of ruin your work. The good news is, there are some tips to help you keep memories.

1. Get enough carbohydrate

A study at the Tufts University showed that people who reduced carbohydrates from their diets performed worse on memory-based tasks than those whoget enough intake of carbohydrate. Our brain cells need carbohydrate to run its function, that is why it is important to always include foods containing high carbohydrate in our menu. Carbohydrate can be found in potatoes, rice or toast.

2. Get active with exercising

Do you know that doing exercise frequently can increases the blood flow to the brain? Blood flows bring oxygen and glucose that function as fuels to the brain. A study even showed that people can learn vocabulary words 20% faster if memorizing them after doing an intense exercise.

2. Change your notes font

A study showed that using different type of font on the reminder notes can improve long term memory retention. When reading unusual font, the brain process is focusing on the font and makes it works a little harder which in turn improves the possibility of recalling the information.

3. Do some internet browsing

Spending some hours to search for information in the internet may help to stimulate the part of frontal lobe that controls short-term memory. This is because the searching activity is involving decision-making, visual-spatial, and verbal skills. The more complex information you’re searching, the more effective it is for your brain.

4. Reduce alcohol

Research has found that alcohol can be a bad influence for memory. Thus, drinking less alcohol may actually lower the risk of memory problem. As the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease informed, participants who downed seven or fewer alcoholic drinks total per week had the lowest risk for cognitive impairment, compared with women who didn’t drink at all and those who imbibed more.

5. Keep your dental hygiene

Keeping dental hygiene may actually help keeping memory. Why does it so? Because when the dental area is not clean, it will be easy for bacteria to enter the bloodstream and trigger inflammation throughout the body, including in the brain.

The key for healthy living is a healthy food. And healthy foods mean proper and balance dietary so that our body will get what it needs to support our daily activity. So, we have to be able to decide what to eat everyday based on what our body needs. The Food Standards Agency has designed the ‘eatwell plate’ to help people balancing the foods and nutrients intake from daily dietary. Proper and balance dietary means that what you eat is in accordance with the body needs and the portion and compound of the foods is just right. Now, take a look at what you should include in your menu.

A-third of Nutrients from Fruit and vegetables

Eating fruits and veggie is a must. The proportion of fruits and vegetable is around a third of your daily diet. Eating fruits and vegetables is obviously beneficial as they are packed with nutrients and vitamin to help our body get energy as well as against chronic health problem like cancer, obesity and heart disease.

A-third of Carbohydrate: bread, rice and potatoes

Another a third proportion of the food you eat should include carbohydrate intake as it is the main source of energy that we need to support our daily activities. Carbohydrates can be found in various foods like brad, rice, potatoes and pasta. They are rich in grain and fiber that is helpful in reducing risk of certain diseases like cancer, diabetes and coronary heart disease.

Another a-third: dairy, protein and sugar

Finally, is you’ve got the two a-thirds proportion above, you should not forget another a-third proportion that consists of groups of food that need to be consumed in smaller portion; they are dairy, protein and sugar.

Due to its high saturated fat, dairy products should be consumed in moderation. However they are important for your bones and teeth. Dairy products include milk, yogurt, cheese and margarine.

Your body needs protein for the sake of functional and structural of all cells. You can get protein from plants like beans, soya and peanuts or from animals like meat and beef. Meanwhile, sugar takes the smallest portion in the plate due to the risk of diabetes from excessive intake of sugar.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or also simply known as autism is an abnormality of the ability to communicate and interact with others. Usually, the autism develop during early age of childhood most likely before age of three and can be recognized by certain symptoms like slow language development, lack of eye contact and repetitive or obsessive behavior, such as rocking or hand flapping. The behavior of kids with autism itself can be varied depending on the condition of autism whether it’s mild or severe problem.

Rumors say that autism root may be related to vaccines, but what has been found by researchers suggested that autism is related to Schizophrenia instead. Children born in a family with history of schizophrenia are more likely to suffer from autism than those whose families are unrelated to schizophrenia. Schizophrenia itself is a psychological problem that is also related to problem in communicating with others.

According to the research conducted by researchers by analyzing data from three large health databases [two in Sweden and one in Israel], children whose parents have schizophrenia history have triple risk of developing an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Even is its only siblings, the risk of developing autism is still bigger than those whose family is clear from schizophrenia history. This data suggest that there is a strong correlation of schizophrenia towards autism through genetic factor.

Besides, there is also another psychological disorder that is rumored to be related to autism: bipolar disorder. It is a mental illness is also related to schizophrenia, usually marked with sudden and immense mood swing. In fact, autism itself is a complicated disorder whose roots can be related to the combination of genes and environmental factors in which the kids grow. Although both autism and schizophrenia are related in term of difficulty in communicating with others, they are different as autism usually appears in early age while schizophrenia tends to be recognized in adults. Besides, autism doesn’t include the psychotic symptoms as in schizophrenia cases like delusions, paranoia, and hallucinations.

Do you know that our body has rhythm on how they work? Christopher Colwell, a professor of psychiatry at the University of California, Los Angeles’s Brain Research Institute says that “The heart, the liver, the brain — all are controlled by an endogenous circadian rhythm”. He has been studying on the rhythm and found out that exercise does affect the rhythm, and suggests that the best time to do exercise is in the midday rather than early in the morning like what most of us usually do.

Using several types of mice, the researchers have experimented on them and found that the mice organs work along with circadian rhythm. And so does humans. The thing is, when the rhythm is discombobulated, and makes our body kind of confused which in result can affect to our health including increasing risk of diabetes, obesity, certain types of cancer, memory loss and mood disorders.

In the experiment, the researchers also found that mice that run frequently in the afternoon are in better health condition with sturdier circadian rhythm. So it also suggests that exercising in the afternoon is somehow better than on the other time, due to our body circadian rhythm.

Children in this day and age may be prone to anxiety due to various reasons from the fear of unthinkable realities to daily practical events. However, experts say that children are more likely anxious because of the fear of their imagination rather than what actually might happen in reality. In early age, we all experienced that time when we’re afraid of many things, either something new or changes within environment we were living in. the range of anxieties can be various like anxiety of strange noises, certain insect, ghost or even monster inside the wardrobe. Anxieties caused by children own imagination, however, is rather hard to deal with. Nevertheless, as parents we have to be able to comfort our kids and help them deal with their anxieties.

Do you know that one of the most common kids’ anxieties is that they are often afraid of separation from parents? Such an anxiety usually develops around the age of 9 months and ends at about age 3. However, certain circumstances might cause children to have trauma that cause separation anxiety to develop at age 4 and continued through their teenager life. Untreated, such an anxiety can be a problem towards children mental and self esteem development.

The root problem of children’s anxiety however can actually come from their parents. As we know, parents are models to their kids, and showing our anxiety in front of children may affect them mentally. Besides, anxiety itself can be heredity. So, those parents who had childhood anxiety problem will be more likely to have children with, more or less, the same anxiety.

To deal with children anxiety parents have to be able to comfort them and offer relief feeling, releasing them from oppressive anxiety feeling. Put in mind that the goal is not to put down children’s fears, but to change their view that their fears are unwarranted and that they can overcome them. Some practical tips for helping comfort children are as follows:

- Showing empathy

Showing empathy to your children when they are struggling with their anxiety may help them to feel comfortable. Remember not to tell the child there is nothing to worry about, but encourage them that they can overcome what they were worried about.

- Explanation

Explain to your children about the things they are worried about in simple and understandable way; that the problem may not as big as they see they are. This way you can help your children to see things from different point of view.

- Relaxation

Relaxation has been proven to work on adults in helping them managing stress and depression, so why not teach your children some simple ways of relaxation to help them deal with their own anxiety?
